The short version: we only collect your email address if you sign up for the newsletter, we never sell or share it, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
Who we are
Script Deadlines (scriptdeadlines.com) is a small, independently run website that tracks screenwriting contest and fellowship deadlines. This policy was last updated on October 21, 2026.
What we collect
- Your email address, only if you subscribe. When you sign up for the Friday email, we send your address to Beehiiv, the newsletter service that stores our subscriber list and sends the email on our behalf. Beehiiv also records basic delivery data such as opens and clicks, as most email services do. Beehiiv's own privacy policy (opens in a new tab) covers how it handles that data.
- Anonymous click counts. When you click a contest link, we add one to a daily counter for that contest and the spot on the page you clicked from. We don't store your IP address, browser details, cookies or anything else that could identify you.
- Cookieless site analytics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see overall page views and where visitors come from. It doesn't use cookies or track you across other sites.
- Settings on your own device. The printable calendar remembers which deadlines you unticked in your browser's local storage. That stays on your device and is never sent to us.
- Emails you send us. If you email us, we keep the message so we can reply.
- Payments. Contests that buy a Featured listing pay through Stripe. Stripe handles the card details; we never see or store them.
What we don't do
- We don't sell, rent or share your personal information.
- We don't use advertising trackers or build profiles of visitors.
- Sponsors and featured contests never receive our subscriber list.
Your choices
- Every newsletter has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. One click and you're off the list.
- You can email us to ask what we hold about you, or to have your email address deleted.
