Screenwriting labs, residencies & retreats

7 development labs, residencies and writers' retreats, sorted by next deadline. Unlike a contest, a lab or residency selects a small group of writers to work on a project with mentors, usually over a few days to a few weeks, sometimes in person. 5 take feature scripts and 5 take TV pilots. 4 have confirmed upcoming dates; the rest are listed as TBA until the next cycle opens. Several have location or residency requirements and some ask you to cover travel, so check the eligibility and prize lines on each card. For fellowships too, see Fellowships & labs.
